About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Automotive Diagnostics Technician to join their expanding remote support team, based in the Midrand area but operating entirely virtually. This pivotal role involves providing advanced remote diagnostic support and technical guidance to a network of automotive repair shops and technicians across the country. You will be instrumental in troubleshooting complex vehicle issues, interpreting diagnostic data, and developing effective repair strategies, all from the convenience of your home office.

• Perform in-depth remote diagnostics on a wide range of vehicle makes and models using advanced diagnostic tools and software.
• Interpret complex diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) and technical data to identify root causes of vehicle malfunctions.
• Provide clear, concise, and actionable technical guidance and repair recommendations to field technicians via remote communication channels.
• Develop and maintain a comprehensive knowledge base of common and complex automotive issues and their solutions.
• Collaborate with vehicle manufacturers and engineering teams to feedback diagnostic challenges and suggest system improvements.
• Train and mentor junior remote support technicians on advanced diagnostic techniques and best practices.

• Minimum of 7 years of experience as a Master Automotive Technician or Diagnostic Specialist.
• Proven expertise in diagnosing and repairing complex electrical, electronic, and mechanical systems in modern vehicles.
• Proficiency with OEM-level diagnostic software and hardware, including oscilloscopes and advanced scan tools.
• Excellent understanding of automotive CAN bus communication protocols and network systems.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
• Ability to effectively communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences remotely.
