Overview
Account Specialist - Virtual/Remote (Tuscaloosa/Birmingham, AL Area Candidates Preferred) at Vallen USA. The role focuses on selling and expanding the organization s solutions, products, and services within assigned Integrated Supply accounts to achieve performance goals in sales, gross margin, profitability, value propositions, and customer contracts.
Responsibilities- Lead efforts to explore, solicit, and obtain new sales opportunities within assigned accounts.
- Build rapport with customers, understand their needs, and generate value-added propositions around new products, processes, and services. Drive the development process from idea to implementation to ensure solutions meet customer needs.
- Drive cost savings commitments, ensuring goals are exceeded and captured in Vallen VPP and/or the customer s ERP system.
- Design and implement strategic sales plans for assigned accounts to meet or exceed contractual obligations; lead and report on KPI activities and commitments.
- Collaborate with Vendor/Supplier partners to support solutions selling opportunities and the transition from non-franchised to franchised product offerings from those vendors.
- Perform other related duties as requested.
- Bachelor s degree in a related field (e.g., Business, Supply Chain Management, Marketing, Finance) and 3+ years of outside or inside experience or an equivalent combination in supply chain management, wholesale/industrial distribution, manufacturing, or similar industry.
- Demonstrated product and sales knowledge; ability to develop and cultivate customer relationships.
- Strong communication, planning, organizational, time management, problem-solving, and customer service skills.
- Knowledge of product and solution-based sales life cycles and best-in-class processes.
- Proficiency with MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and aptitude to learn company-specific programs and software.
