WHAT DOES A CORPORATE DEVELOPMENT ANALYST DO?

Jan 06, 2025 - The Corporate Development Analyst conducts market and target research to inform strategic business decisions and supports due diligence efforts for key transactions. Provides critical analysis and guidance in the development of strategic plans across segments and business units, ensuring alignment with the company’s goals. Prepares detailed presentations on transaction opportunities and valuation, contributing to the enterprise-wide strategic planning process presented to the Board of Directors.
Review of Professional Skills and Functions for Corporate Development Analyst
- M&A Support:
Support the Corporate Development team in the pursuit of M&A and strategic decision-making that will impact the future growth and positioning of the Company - Opportunity Origination:
Support origination of acquisition opportunities based on commercial, financial, and strategic merit - Flexible
Collaboration:
Effectively operate and deliver within a flexible working environment with colleagues in multiple locations globally, expecting a blend of in-person and remote working - Financial Modeling:
Work closely with investment banks and internal finance teams to build financial models and to evaluate, challenge, and stress-test these models with robust scenarios and sensitivities - Pipeline Management:
Maintain a dynamic M&A pipeline that requires active dialogue with internal and external stakeholders and regular updates to the team - Market Monitoring:
Track key developments in capital markets and target industries to understand how they impact business units and relay that information internally - Transaction Database Management:
Maintain a database of recent transactions and key metrics that are relevant to strategy - Financial Analysis:
Perform financial analysis of peer companies and precedent transactions across relevant sub-sectors and geographies within strategic focus areas - Relationship Tracking:
Support the Corporate Development team in maintaining a strategic relationships tracker including with corporates, founders, PE funds, advisors, and consultants - Marketing Material Development:
Develop targeted marketing materials to clearly articulate TT’s offering to target companies and partners, and prepare bid documentation in M&A processes - Investment Recommendation Preparation:
Assist the Corporate Development team in preparing investment recommendation papers for executive management board approvals and ultimately approval by TT’s Board of Directors
- Valuation & Investment:
Build financial valuation and investment recommendations for prospective acquisition targets - Deal Structuring:
Participate in all aspects of deal structuring - Process Oversight:
Oversee deal timeline and communication touchpoints at all stages of the active deal process - Legal Document Management:
Oversee all active deal legal documents, working with legal advisors, HR, and internal teams - Reorganization & Tax Structuring:
Participate in deal structuring, including any reorganizations, working with tax advisors to ensure an efficient corporate structure - Relationship Management:
Communicate effectively and build strong relationships with vendors, internal teams, and external advisors - Due Diligence Management:
Manage deal due diligence, working with Operations, Transitions, and Business Development departments to ensure satisfactory completion of due diligence - Budget Development:
Build the acquired clinic budget, working with Operations and FP&A teams to ensure transparency and alignment in budget assumptions - Onboarding & Operations Understanding:
Gain an extensive understanding of the onboarding and operational activities related to all steps of the clinic acquisition
- Fundraising Strategy:
Participate in fundraising strategy preparation from scratch to execution - Investor & Board Communication:
Prepare both internal and external recurrent and ad-hoc materials for investors/shareholders, management, and board of directors - Data Structuring & Analysis:
