Senior Category & Insights Analyst

The Senior Category & Insights Analyst will serve as a key strategic partner to Sales and cross-functional teams, owning the FDM channel (Walmart, Kroger, Albertsons etc). This individual will take the lead in turning complex data into actionable insights, guiding customer-specific assortment strategy, and elevating MPM’s presence in customer meetings through compelling, retailer-relevant storytelling. This role reflects a step forward in autonomy, influence, and business impact from Junior Analyst.

The Senior Category & Insights Analyst will be instrumental in shaping MPM’s customer strategy across key accounts

• Retailer Strategy & Storytelling
• Own category management support for FDM channel; serve as subject matter expert for key customers.
• Develop and present retailer-specific data stories to support sales strategy and product placement.
• Inform on category reviews and assortment recommendations tailored to each account’s needs.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration
• Serve as the analytical voice in cross-functional planning with Sales, NPD, and Marketing.
• Actively contribute insights to support new product development and market viability.
• Attend trade shows and industry events, providing timely follow-up insights and competitive context.
• Internal Leadership & Development
• Contribute to onboarding and upskilling future analysts and internal stakeholders.
• Maintain and evolve best practices for using Power BI and other socialized analytical tools.
• Take initiative to own independent projects and bring forward new ideas and opportunities.
• Data Management & Accuracy
• Ensure quality and timely delivery of data from third-party providers.

• 5+ years experience in Category Management or Commercial Analytics, ideally in the CPG space
• Strong knowledge of FDM retail landscape, emphasis on Walmart, with a proven ability to influence retailer decisions
• Proficient in data platforms such as Nielsen/IRI/SPINS/Numerator;
  Power BI experience strongly preferred
• Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills
• Strong communication and presentation skills; able to translate data into persuasive narratives
• Independent, proactive work ethic with strong initiative and ownership mentality
• Experience presenting to or influencing customers alongside Sales teams
• Demonstrated ability to mentor or coach others informally
• High comfort level working with ambiguity and prioritizing in a fast-paced environment
• Flexibility to travel occasionally for customer meetings, trade shows, or team summits
