About the Client Solutions Group

The Client Solutions Group is a collaborative team of lawyers, technologists, and consultants that re‑defines legal service delivery. Using proprietary project‑management tools, AI‑driven drafting, data analytics, and process improvement methodologies, the group creates innovative solutions for corporate legal departments while fostering strong relationships with client teams, firm leadership, and other business services.

Position Overview

The Legal Project Manager (LPM) works closely with the Legal Process Engineering team and firm attorneys to plan, execute, and manage high‑impact initiatives—legal operations optimization, knowledge‑management advancements, innovation pilots, and the rollout of collaboration technologies. The role reports to a Director – Legal Process Engineer on the CSG team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Portfolio and Project Management
    • Develop deep expertise in the firm’s project‑management methods, both best practices and the Baker Manage approach.
    • Help build and roll out collaboration and case‑management tools (e.g., MS 365, SharePoint, HighQ).
    • Gather requirements, draft statements of work, set up matter‑management platforms, train users, and provide ongoing support.
    • Collect project data, analyze results, and create client‑facing reports.
    • Monitor client portfolios to enforce billing guidelines, track matter updates, generate reports, and manage budgets or pricing.
  • Process Improvement and Legal Operations
    • Learn and use proven process‑improvement and legal‑operations practices.
    • Support clients’ day‑to‑day legal operations functions.
    • Help carry out process‑improvement projects for client portfolios.
  • Client Solutions Group Coordination (Data Capture, Training & Practice)
    • Work with LPEs to capture institutional data hygiene responsibilities, including memorializing final pricing decisions and CSG projects and initiative metrics.
    • With LPE oversight, develop content and presentations focused on CSG programs and solutions for RFP responses and internal/external trainings.
    • Conduct portfolio‑management trainings with a focus on technologies, reporting, and tools.
  • Perform other duties, tasks, or projects as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher, preferably in a relevant field.
  • Law degree from an accredited law school preferred.
  • Valid license to practice law preferred.
  • Legal practice experience preferred.
  • Project Management Institute (PMI) member or project‑management professional certification, or willingness to obtain.
  • Process‑improvement methodology certification (e.g., Lean or Six Sigma), or willingness to obtain.
  • Preferred experience with litigation/transactional support technology and implementation of project‑management or knowledge‑management technology.
