Job DescriptionThe Product Development Partner leads the development and management of a portfolio of high‑impact Medicare products within the government programs division at Intermountain Health, overseeing aspects of product strategy, design, launch, and ongoing performance. The role is responsible for driving the success of Medicare offerings across multiple states and/or market geographies, with projected annual revenue exceeding $400 million. The Product Development Partner collaborates with cross‑functional teams—including clinical, compliance, operations, and sales—to ensure products meet regulatory requirements, deliver exceptional member value, and achieve business objectives.
Key responsibilities include identifying market opportunities, shaping product features, monitoring financial performance, and ensuring seamless integration with organizational goals. The role is hybrid and will require travel to areas where Intermountain Health conducts business. Candidates who live in, or are willing to relocate to, Utah, Idaho, Nevada, or Colorado and are within a reasonable commuting distance to an Intermountain Health office are preferred.
Candidates from CA, CT, HI, IL, NY, RI, VT, and WA are not considered for remote work. A video interview through Microsoft Teams is required, along with potential onsite interviews and meetings.
- Develops and/or manages a portfolio of multiple high‑complexity products for an assigned business segment/geography or a single business segment across multiple states/market geographies with projected annual revenue above $400 million.
- Ensures positive program outcomes by leading and supporting the implementation of clinical, operational, and financial improvement initiatives. Takes a lateral view across the organization to identify necessary initiatives and interdependencies, directing project and product managers and department leads for coordination and alignment of resources.
- Ensures assigned product line(s) (or new product) is positioned to meet Intermountain Health membership growth goals and NOI targets, managing the entire product life cycle and developing and monitoring key performance indicators.
- Develops new medical and ancillary products, completing feasibility analyses, business cases, and comprehensive plans for new products or opportunities.
- Introduces new products to market, leading sales, marketing, broker relations, and other internal departments in developing multi‑channel distribution strategies and producing product materials and sales collateral.
- Evaluates new product opportunities, geographic/service area expansion, new market entry, and potential strategic partnerships to meet growth objectives.
- Ensures education of internal teams and external partners regarding insurance market and products, maintaining partnership relationships and serving as the primary point of contact.
- Monitors national carrier and local competitor products and trends, conducting market research and analysis to inform optimal product positioning.
- Develops affiliations and partnerships as necessary for new product and/or service opportunities, reviewing contracts and SLAs for appropriate execution.

- Ten years of experience in health care, health insurance, managed care, employee health benefits management or self‑insured plan administration, with at least five years related to the assigned products (product development, product management, project management, service line management, network development, strategic planning, marketing, and/or business development).
- Demonstrated understanding of actuarial pricing models, underwriting practices, risk management/mitigation/avoidance strategies, adverse selection, provider payment arrangements, multi‑channel insurance product distribution, and the impacts on product marketability and performance.
