Job DescriptionThe Operations Excellence Trainer plays a vital role in improving shop performance through the delivery of field-based and virtual training for Parts Administrators and other team members responsible for parts management. This individual contributor will support the successful implementation and utilization of the company’s parts platform, drive adherence to established parts rulesets, and reinforce best practices from estimate through to invoice.
This role requires a high level of autonomy, adaptability, and the ability to engage diverse shop teams across multiple markets. With up to 75% travel, the Trainer will work hands‑on with shop leaders and parts personnel to deliver training, support onboarding, and build capability through continuous coaching and follow‑up.
Key Job Responsibilities- Deliver effective training programs to Parts Administrators and supporting roles in the field, focusing on parts procurement, reconciliation, and return workflows.
- Monitor, track and reinforce use of company parts systems (OPS) and tools, ensuring team members understand and adhere to established processes and rulesets.
- Establish rulesets within OPS to lock in efficiencies and effectiveness of parts purchasing.
- Monitor, track and reinforce use of company primary suppliers in OPS.
- Conduct hands‑on shop visits, side‑by‑side coaching, and virtual training sessions to support the onboarding and upskilling of team members.
- Partner with shop leadership and the Sr. Manager to assess training needs and recommend targeted learning interventions.
- Support rollout of new platform features or process changes through clean, consistent training and communication.
- Maintain a strong understanding of parts best practices and serve as a go‑to resource for day‑to‑day questions and troubleshooting.
- Track participation and effectiveness of training efforts, escalating opportunities for improvement and success stories.
- Collaborate with peers and cross‑functional teams to ensure training materials are aligned with operational goals and current systems.
- Associate degree or equivalent experience required;
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Operations, or related field preferred. - Minimum three (3) years of experience in parts operations, preferably within automotive collision repair or a related industry. Prior experience conducting training, onboarding, or mentoring preferred.
- Proficiency with parts procurement systems and operational processes strongly preferred.
- Google Suite experience required (Docs, Sheets, Slides, etc.).
- Strong working knowledge of parts operations, including ordering, returns, and reconciliation.
- Comfortable facilitating both one‑on‑one and group training sessions in the field and virtually.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence and engage team members at all levels.
- Self‑starter with strong organizational and time‑management skills.
- Ability to translate complex processes into clear, teachable steps.
- Capable of managing priorities in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment.
- Bilingual skills are a plus.
- Up to 75% travel required across the U.S.
- Must have a valid driver’s license.
- Ability to occasionally lift training materials or equipment (up to 25 lbs).
