Position: Raw Material Supply Planner (Temporary)

Manager, Raw Materials Supply Planning.

Location:

North Vancouver, BC. This is a temporary contract with an end date of August 28, 2026. The role is based out of our North Vancouver office and is open to hybrid remote work. Candidates must be eligible to work in Canada.

Your opportunity at Arc’teryx:
As a Raw Material Supply Planner (RMSP), you will play a key role in the supply planning of raw materials for the production of finished goods, by negotiating and planning supplier capacity, forecasting raw material production and managing supplier delivery performance. You will work with a portfolio of overseas manufacturers and ensure that their production forecast best supports our finished goods supplier base.

You will collaborate internally with the Raw Materials Development and Sourcing teams, Quality, Finished Goods Supply Planning, Global Planning and Finished Goods Sourcing teams to achieve supply and delivery targets. You will also support key projects and initiatives within the team and beyond, improving the effectiveness and efficiency of the raw material commercialization and Sales & Operations Planning processes.

This role is temporary with an end date of August 28, 2026. Hybrid remote work is available; applicants must be eligible to work in Canada.

Responsibilities
  • Manage relationships with manufacturers with a sense of urgency in a professional and courteous manner. Ensure optimal supplier performance (growth, on-time delivery, communication, and flexibility) with a focus on long-term and mutually beneficial partnerships.
  • Understand the raw material development process to determine if commercialization timelines can be met.
  • Work with the Raw Material Sourcing team to negotiate, set and ensure compliance with purchasing terms and pricing conditions based on forecast volume & market changes.
  • Manage a rolling raw material forecast schedule and any exceptional cross-functional decisions and/or commitments related to supplier MOQ, MCQ and lead times.
  • Work with the Hong Kong Office to monitor work in progress production at manufacturers to ensure on-time delivery and steady supply with minimal shortages and excesses.
  • Track and report supplier delivery performance and supplier lead time performance. Analyze root causes and recommend improvements.
  • Account for excess raw materials at season-end, provide accurate financial projections, and settle invoices with due diligence.
  • Engage in the monthly Sales & Operations Planning process to report portfolio KPIs and communicate supply opportunities or risks.
  • Conduct seasonal manufacturer performance reviews, providing feedback to Sourcing teams for improvement.
Future opportunities
  • Complete core RMSP deliverables on time and in full for your portfolio, including securing seasonal raw material supplier quotes, maintaining or reducing RM lead times, and achieving 95% OTIF for long lead time raw materials.
  • Establish and maintain Tier 2 supplier capacity utilization at or below 90% across all suppliers in your portfolio.
  • Ensure raw material commitments are accurately maintained in the Centric system in alignment with SOPs and RMSP update schedule.
  • Manage relationships with Tier 2 suppliers and address lack of responsiveness; make strategic decisions as needed.
  • Provide administrative support for RMSP processes and proactively resolve issues impacting Tier 2 on-time performance.
  • Maintain understanding of finished goods scope within your Tier 2 supplier portfolio.
Qualifications
  • You have 2+ years’ experience in Supply Planning, Purchasing or an equivalent Supply Chain position, preferably in the apparel or consumer goods industry.
  • You hold a bachelor’s degree in business, Economics, Engineering, Operations, or Supply Chain and/or APICS certification.
  • You have knowledge of sourcing practices, vendor management, supply chain management, inventory management, global distribution network planning and project management practices.
  • You are a proficient user of Excel and Power BI, and have ERP experience.
