Overview

Salary: $28.28–$32.98 per hour (WS‑5). One vacancy in Albany, GA – remote position available. Permanent full‑time. No telework authorized. Travel occasional. No travel required. This role will close on 11/02/2025 or when 100 applications are received, whichever comes first.

• Exercise technical and administrative supervision over subordinate workers.
• Plan the use of subordinate workers, equipment, facilities, and materials based on workload projections on a weekly or monthly basis.
• Establish deadlines, priorities, and work sequences in accordance with general work schedules, methods, and policies established by higher‑level supervisors.
• Determine the number and types of workers needed to accomplish specific projects.
• Assign work to individual workers by verbal or written instructions.
• Monitor work in progress and inspect completed work to assure work order requirements.
• Set performance standards for subordinates and make formal appraisals of their work performance.
• Counsel employees and discuss informal complaints and grievances with workers and union representatives.
• Initiate disciplinary actions as needed.
• Maintain work reports and records.

• Must be eligible for a security clearance (Non‑Critical Sensitive with Secret Access).
• Completion of a favorable suitability or fitness determination; adverse background checks are grounds for removal.
• Federal Employee Classification:
  Exempt (FLSA).
• Mandatory pre‑employment physical and drug testing.
• Potential supervisory probation and completion of a Supervisory Certification Program.
• Valid Material Handling Equipment (MHE) license and valid state driver’s license or equivalent certification to operate government vehicles.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain any additional licenses or certifications required by federal, state, or local laws.
• Understand that the position may be used to fill various shifts within DLA Distribution Albany, GA.

Applicants will be evaluated according to the Office of Personnel Management Qualification Standard for Trades and Labor Occupations. The minimum qualifications are:

• Demonstrated supervisory experience: ability to assist with planning and organizing work activities for employees, advise supervisors on disciplinary actions, set goals and deadlines, and provide instructions on work procedures and safety.
• Experience may be paid or unpaid, including volunteer work through programs such as Peace Corps, Ameri Corps, or other community organizations.

• Stand on hard surfaces for extended periods; frequent bending, stooping, and lifting up to 40 lbs, with assistance for heavier items.
• Work both inside and outside in hot, damp, cold, drafty, or poorly lit conditions; exposure to cuts, bruises, noise, abrasions, and hazardous materials.
• Required protective gear: steel‑toed shoes, respirators, safety glasses, and earplugs.
