What does a Premium Auditor do?
  • Meet with clients’ policyholders onsite, virtually or by phone, usually at the end of the policy period to conduct a review of business operations and specific financial records such as payroll, sales and/or cost records.
  • Verify class codes assigned per industry and client standards as required by their insurance contract.
  • Individually schedule appointments with clients to conduct the premium audit and obtain necessary information.
  • Submit audit reports via web portal and Davies’ exclusive premium auditing software.
  • Contact clients and communicate via phone, e‑mail, and face‑to‑face discussions.
  • Examine commercial businesses’ payroll and tax records.
  • Evaluate operational practices.
  • Adhere to customer requirements and quality standards.
  • Maintain confidentiality and act with integrity.
Qualifications
  • Must live in the geographic area advertised.
  • Accounting or bookkeeping experience is required.
  • Strong customer service and people skills are a must.
  • Numbers‑oriented.
  • Knowledgeable of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word and Outlook.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Ability to use deductive reasoning to find solutions.
