Job Description SummaryThe selected candidate must reside in Colorado, Washington, or Northern California or be willing to relocate to the identified locations.
The National Strategic Customer Manager increases the customer base / volume of Sunbelt’s Strategic Customer Program, with a concentration on a specified customer base. The role will develop and oversee the strategy, customer agreements and manage the team of strategic sellers servicing this space. The position is also involved with the coordination of sales calls with local, regional and/or national sellers on Strategic Customers within the defined space.
Additionally, the incumbent will be required to develop relationships with the targeted Strategic Customers within their assigned territory with the goal of becoming the “first call” with these customers. This role will manage the team performance of Regional Strategic Customer Managers servicing the space.
Candidates should expect extensive local and overnight travel in this position.
Position Responsibilities- Coordinate sales calls with local, regional or national sellers on Strategic Customers within the defined space.
- Develop relationships with the targeted Strategic Customers within their assigned territory with the goal of becoming the “first call” with these customers.
- Identify other regional or national companies within a specified space.
- Attend national and regional trade shows as necessary.
- Review, design and update as necessary customer programs (rebates, rates, quick pays, portals, etc). Work with sales and leadership teams to present agreements to customers.
- Oversee and determine rate structure within a specified space.
- Develop team of Regional Strategic Customer Managers to further develop and grow Sunbelt’s business opportunities within this space.
- Performance manage team of Regional Strategic Customer Managers servicing the space.
- Keep appropriate business leaders (DMs, VPs, etc) apprised of activities, progress or issues with Strategic customers.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the manager.
- College degree or equivalent work experience plus 6-8+ years in Outside Sales or Sales Management role
- Documented successful territory management showing consistent revenue growth
- Comfortable cold calling on new accounts
- Basic Microsoft Office skills
- Comfortable calling on jobsites and corporate office
- Ability to incorporate the Specialty Businesses into their presentations and product offerings
- Product training to be provided by the various Sunbelt experts, by division
- Work remotely from home or from the local Sunbelt PC’s so no relocation required
- 75% to 85% travel
- Wynne Rental Man experience preferred but not required
Must be able to bend, squat, crouch and/or reach and lift up to 25 pounds or more, as required by the job. Some Sunbelt jobs may require driving for long periods of time, loading and unloading heavy equipment, performing work in extreme weather conditions including rain, wind or excessive temperatures and/or night and weekend work. All duties must be performed according to Sunbelt’s safety policies and guidelines.
