Program / Project Manager
Overview
The Strategic Weapons Systems (SWS) Business Management team provides oversight, metrics, funding management, and schedule support for each of the contracts that fund efforts under SWS Program Office cognizance. The Program Representative liaisons with internal and external stakeholders, including engineers and program management, to support day‑to‑day financial management and project schedules of US/UK teams supporting in‑service strategic submarines.
Responsibilities- Establish and maintain internal and external professional relationships across several cross‑functional teams
- Resource, budget, and schedule management
- Provide daily program status updates to management to mitigate potential impacts and maintain schedules
- Provide program status updates to NAVSEA, SSP, and other customers as required by management
- Generate contract performance metrics and be able to comprehensively explain the metrics to NAVSEA stakeholders and EB management
- Develop coordinated planning documents, tracking tools, and meeting agendas in support of contract management
- Interface with Purchasing to manage Purchase Order requirements and vendor production
- Coordinate with US/UK support teams for support of various schedules for design, material procurement, production, and installation
- Effectively communicate various programmatic issues with NAVSEA and EB task managers
The Program Representative will be expected to acquire and maintain a PKI certificate and a Common Access Card (CAC) for access to NAVSEA/SSP controlled spaces and systems. This position is located at our Shaw’s Cove facility in New London, CT. Occasional remote work is permitted with supervisor concurrence in advance in accordance with Waterfront Engineering directorate policies. Occasional travel may be required.
QualificationsRequired:
- Associate’s degree or higher in Business, Finance, or related field
- In lieu of degree, 3 years of experience with Electric Boat business systems
- Ability to manage data and create reports from various database systems
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
Preferred:
- 2+ years of project management experience
- Experience with Electric Boat business tools:
Oracle, ARTEMIS, SPARS, MRPII, AMPS - Familiarity with Electric Boat business processes related to Contracts, Finance, Cost Estimation, and/or Planning
- Active Secret clearance or higher
- Is well‑organized and detail‑oriented
- Is a creative, proactive problem solver
- Has excellent written and oral communication skills
- Works well both independently and as part of multiple teams
- Is focused on customer service with the goal of workable, effective solutions
