This is a fully remote position with Guidant Financial. We are recruiting in select states across the US: AZ, FL, GA, , KS, LA, MI, MN, NC, NE, TX, UT, VA, MO, OK. The wage for this position is $23 per hour, equivalent to an annual salary of $47,840. Role SummaryAs a Retirement Plan Specialist at Guidant Financial, you will begin the learning path to administer, test, and report on 401(k) plans. Through accelerated learning, training, and practical experience, you will progress from document review to administering basic plans. You will review documents submitted by clients, keep clients updated on progress, and help them understand year-end reporting documents necessary for government filings, including the annual Form 5500.
WhatYou'll Be Doing
- Work with clients to obtain necessary information to prepare the annual reporting
- Review documents submitted by clients for completeness and accuracy
- Reconcile plans with rollovers and plan stock using Excel and administration software
- Utilize administration software to complete 401(k) testing and reporting
- Make outgoing reminder calls and send emails to clients during the plan year reporting process
- Prepare required 401(k) plan government filings, including the IRS Form 5500, using filing software
- Educate clients regarding the administration of their 401(k) plan and related documents
- Share knowledge and explain complex topics simply
- Training on concepts for a Retirement Plan Administrator I
- Performs other duties as required
- Must be 18 years of age
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Meticulous attention to detail and proactive problem solving
- Skills in customer service, organization, and collaboration
- Adequate math and analytical skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
- Associate's or bachelor's degree in a related field (business, finance, etc.) or equivalent work experience preferred
- Basic knowledge of 401(K) plan structure, ROBS, and IRS/DOL Regulations preferred
- Ability to work autonomously and be self-directed

- Complete continuing education based on current certifications
