Overview

An exclusive game reserve in the Western Cape is seeking two passionate and professional Field Guides to join its guiding team. This is an exceptional opportunity to work in a Big 5 environment, providing guests with immersive and educational safari experiences while promoting conservation and authentic hospitality.

• Conduct engaging and informative game drives and guided bush walks for local and international guests.
• Share in-depth knowledge of the local flora, fauna, ecosystems, and conservation efforts.
• Ensure guest safety and comfort at all times, maintaining the highest level of professionalism.
• Assist with reserve-related activities such as monitoring wildlife movements, reporting sightings, and supporting conservation initiatives.
• Work closely with lodge management and the hospitality team to deliver a seamless guest experience.
• Maintain vehicles, equipment, and guide areas to company standards.
• Contribute to training and mentoring of junior staff or students when required.

• Minimum 2 years’ experience as a Field Guide within a Big 5 or similar environment.
• Recognised guiding qualification (Nature Site Guide NQF Level 2 or higher equivalent).
• Valid driver’s license and Professional Driving Permit (PrDP).
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Enthusiastic, well-presented, and guest-focused with a passion for conservation and the natural environment.
• Ability to work in a team and adapt to a flexible, remote working environment.

• First Aid certification.
• Photography or birding interest advantageous.
• Experience hosting international guests.
