Data Manager
Our Data Manager role supports the implementation of government and industry policies for requirements management, document management, change management, production and delivery, and configuration management of performance, functional, and physical baselines. The Data Manager acquires, validates, stores, protects, and processes required data to ensure accessibility, reliability, and timeliness for users. The role develops and executes architectures, policies, data equity principles and practices, and procedures that properly manage the full data lifecycle needs of an enterprise.
The Data Manager makes decisions regarding work methods, occasionally in ambiguous situations, and follows established guidelines and procedures.

Responsibilities- Develops productive relationships with Medicaid operations IT, the data warehouse team, and users of data (Finance, Clinical, Actuarial, DH&A analysts, and report end users).
- Develop analytic and decision‑making processes, outcome and impact measures to assess diverse populations across traits such as race, ethnicity, primary language, rural access to care, people with disabilities, gender, sexual preference, and environmental factors (zip codes, provider network, Disproportionately Impacted Areas, and Social and Structural Determinants of Health).
- Promote and build understanding of data trends applicable to equitable population health and improved health outcomes.
- Create detailed documentation of data methodologies to support trust in data/results, audits, and meet requirements set by enterprise teams such as Medicaid Governance, Center of Clinical Effectiveness Services & Products, and external state reporting.
- Work independently to design and deliver descriptive clinical analytics projects to profile clinical populations and identify drivers/factors associated with health care needs, utilization, and outcomes.
- Bachelor's degree.
- Three or more years of technical experience in compiling, modeling, interpreting, and analyzing clinical and population health data to identify, explain, influence variances and trends.
- Advanced skills with Microsoft Excel (advanced formulas, pivot tables, charts, VLOOKUPs, and graphs).
- Working knowledge with SQL and data extraction/analysis technologies such as SAS, SPSS, R, Minitab, Qlik View, Tableau, or Power BI.
- Working knowledge of ad‑hoc query tools and data repositories that support data extraction and manipulation.
- Master's degree in Epidemiology, Biostatistics or Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering or related field.
- Proficiency in statistical analysis software.
- Experience working with EPIC systems, specifically in population health analytics.
- Workstyle:
Remote position with minimal travel. - Travel:
Up to 10% travel occasionally to Humana’s Detroit office for team engagement meetings. - Workdays and
Hours:
Monday - Friday; 8:00am - 5:00pm Eastern Standard Time (EST).
- At minimum, download speed of 25 Mbps and upload speed of 10 Mbps required; wireless, wired cable, or DSL connection is suggested.
- Satellite, cellular, and microwave connection may be used only if approved by leadership.
- Employees working from home in California, Illinois, Montana, or South Dakota receive bi‑weekly payment for internet expense.
- Humana provides telephone equipment appropriate for the position.
- Employees must work from a dedicated space without ongoing interruptions to protect PHI/HIPAA.

Pay Range$73,400 - $100,100 per year.
