Logistics Industry Development Executive

About the Role

We are seeking a results-driven professional to spearhead business development and marketing initiatives within the logistics industry.

This role is ideal for an industry expert with proven experience in transport broking, a strong network of contacts, and the ability to secure and manage high-value accounts.

• Develop and execute strategies to increase revenue and market share in the logistics sector.
• Identify, engage, and convert new business opportunities in freight forwarding, transport, and logistics.
• Leverage industry network to secure new clients and partnerships.
• Oversee operations to ensure profitability and efficiency.
• Build, mentor, and lead a sales team to meet objectives.
• Manage client relationships with a focus on retention and service excellence.
• Track market trends, competitor activity, and emerging opportunities.
• Collaborate with executive management on strategic growth initiatives.

• Proven background as a Transport Broker with strong commercial acumen.
• Established network and client contacts in the logistics sector.
• Excellent negotiation, presentation, and closing skills.
• Strong leadership experience with the ability to manage and motivate a team.
• Durban-based or willing to relocate (remote work with Durban preference).
• Highly motivated individual with a track record of exceeding targets.
• Advantageous: experience in freight forwarding, warehousing, and 3 PL solutions.
• Advantageous: tertiary qualification in Sales, Marketing, or Logistics.
• Advantageous: bilingual in English & Afrikaans or Zulu.
