The Role

The VP Corporate Development will lead all aspects of Mode Mobile’s mergers and acquisitions strategy—from sourcing, diligence, and deal execution to integration and post‑acquisition value creation. This is a high‑visibility, high‑impact leadership role responsible for expanding the portfolio of apps, media, and fintech products while ensuring smooth operational alignment across business units.

In practice, you will be both strategic and hands‑on
, balancing corporate development, financial modeling, and cross‑functional integration to accelerate growth and achieve our 2028 Wildly Important Goal (WIG).

M&A Strategy and Pipeline
  • Define and refine the company’s M&A roadmap aligned with Modes WIG and growth priorities.
  • Identify source and evaluate acquisition opportunities in mobile apps, media, fintech, and adjacent markets.
  • Lead valuation analysis, financial modeling, and strategic fit assessments.
  • Partner with the CEO and CFO on deal structuring, negotiations, and transaction execution.
Due Diligence and Deal Execution
  • Oversee cross‑functional due diligence (financial, product, legal, people, tech, operations).
  • Collaborate with internal experts (Finance, Legal, People, Product, Engineering) to assess risk and synergies.
  • Manage external advisors and due diligence vendors.
  • Drive clear go/no‑go recommendations to executive leadership and the board.
Post‑Acquisition Integration
  • Develop and lead integration plans covering product, people, systems, finance, and operational alignment.
  • Partner with new GMs and business unit leaders to ensure a smooth transition and realization of synergies.
  • Establish OKRs, KPIs, and dashboards to track integration success (e.g., revenue retention, EBITDA impact, employee engagement).
  • Lead regular post‑close reviews to identify learnings and improve integration playbooks.
Corporate Development Infrastructure
  • Build scalable M&A frameworks, templates, and processes for future deals.
  • Maintain an active deal pipeline, target‑tracking system, and internal reporting cadence.
  • Work closely with Finance to model deal scenarios and ROI projections.
  • Support investor and board reporting on M&A activity and results.
Leadership and Collaboration
  • Partner with the CEO, CFO, and executive team to drive Modes long‑term corporate development strategy.
  • Influence strategic decision‑making across Modes portfolio companies and new ventures.
  • Mentor and build a small team of analysts and integration managers as deal volume scales.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, transparency, and accountability across all functional areas.
Qualifications
  • 10 years of experience in M&A, corporate development, investment banking, venture capital, or private equity—ideally within tech, mobile, media, or fintech.
  • Proven track record leading deals from sourcing through integration.
