About the RoleThe Global Retail Vertical Market Director is a commercially driven technical leader responsible for accelerating revenue growth and optimizing Retail performance across HARMAN’s Professional Solutions business. This role serves as the critical link between Product Management and Regional Sales, ensuring seamless transitions from product development to market execution. The Director translates product strategy into commercial readiness by equipping regional teams with the tools, messaging, and insights needed to drive adoption and revenue realization.
Leveraging deep technical expertise and a strong commercial mindset, the Director identifies sales opportunities within existing inventory, shapes go‑to‑market strategies, and promotes the adoption of key technologies across global markets. Success in this role requires a hands‑on, data‑informed approach that balances strategic vision with tactical execution to enhance portfolio utilization, expand market reach, and align global and regional priorities.
- Analyze portfolio performance, pricing, and inventory to identify near‑term and mid‑term sales opportunities and margin optimization and influence regional leaders to take appropriate action.
- Partner with Product Management to align roadmap priorities, product lifecycle plans, and inventory health with customer demand trends.
- Lead cross‑functional efforts to reduce excess & obsolete product exposure while increasing revenue velocity.
- Own the commercial readiness phase of new products — ensuring handoff from Product Management (development phase) to Sales Regions (execution phase) is seamless and complete.
- Define and manage the product handoff framework between Product Management and Sales, ensuring each product moves from concept to market launch with clear ownership transitions.
- Lead go‑to‑market readiness reviews with Regional Sales Directors to confirm commercial alignment and launch readiness.
- Develop and maintain sales enablement content (pitch decks, ROI models, competitive comparisons, playbooks).
- Deliver training and workshops to elevate product knowledge and sales effectiveness.
- Act as the global subject matter expert linking technical capability with customer use cases.
- Translate product feature sets into value‑based selling narratives tailored to regional priorities.
- Facilitate best‑practice sharing across regions and support key account planning efforts.
- 10+ years of experience in technical sales, product marketing, or commercial strategy, in the professional Retail sector.
- Proven ability to translate technical features into commercial value propositions.
- Strong analytical and data interpretation skills with proficiency in CRM, BI, and sales analytics tools.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management capabilities.
- Strategic thinker with a hands‑on execution mindset.
- Collaboration with teams in various geography
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Marketing, Engineering
- Willingness to travel Domestic and internationally about 25–35%.
