Position: Category Manager, AP1000 Structures - ROC

About the role:

As a Project Sourcing and Procurement Principal you will be the supply chain commercial subject matter expert for AP1000 structural modules (WBS 1&2). The role will support and be accountable for all bid and proposal efforts, sourcing strategies and implementation, including development of suppliers, both domestic and international, to deliver the best value to the AP1000 projects.

You will report to the Manager, APX Project Sourcing and Procurement-AP1000 Structures and be located in or around Pittsburgh, PA, Rock Hill, SC or Charlotte, NC. This will be a remote position but will require 10‑20% domestic and international travel.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Primary relationship owner for AP1000 structural module suppliers.
  • You will develop an overall sourcing strategy to meet organizational goals by improving Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) while securing supply continuity through identifying and mitigating current and potential risks and opportunities in the commodity plan.
  • Lead negotiations for supplier agreement, inclusive of Purchase Order Terms and Conditions, Preferred Supplier Agreements, Teaming Agreements.
  • You will review analysis from Power BI and other tools to create insights into the drivers of assigned commodity and possible effects for spend and cost projections to use as levers with our supply base.
  • Conduct regular business reviews (SRM) with main and strategic suppliers with teams and senior leadership.
  • Create presentations for supplier quarterly business reviews, procurement strategies, risk mitigation proposals, 4‑Blockers, and supplier/commodity gap analysis.
  • Develop a productive working relationship with peers:
    Engineering, Operations, Quality, and Delivery Stream.
Qualifications:
  • BA/BS degree or MBA preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of procurement experience (preferably within industries with large engineering, procurement, and construction projects, with a focus on procurement).
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in negotiations including RFI, RFP, RFQ and contract development.
  • Benchmark, Market Analysis, Competitive Intelligence, and Procurement Projects Management skills.
  • Experience with vendor management including purchase order issuance, execution, and administration.
  • Ability to maintain long‑term productive relationship with suppliers (SRM).
  • ERP system or similar system experience in a global environment (SAP & Ariba).

We are committed to transparency and equity in all of our people practices. The base salary range for this position, which is dependent upon experience, qualifications, and skills, is estimated to be ($90,000 to $112,500).
