Who We’re Looking ForWe are seeking a result-driven Business Development Manager to plan and oversee innovative marketing initiatives, research organizations to find new opportunities, and increase the value of current clients while attracting new ones. The ideal candidate will have experience in Business Development or Administration for a commercial construction management company, with a track record of success on projects ranging in magnitude from small to large.
The assignment will be commensurate with experience. The role involves working closely with the Vice President of the Northeast Region and the Business Development teams to provide competitive feedback and develop a growth strategy focused on financial gain and partner satisfaction. You’ll Do
- Conduct research to identify new markets and client/customer needs
- Arrange business meetings with prospective clients, building long-term relationships with new and existing partners
- Develop a growth strategy focused on both financial gain and partner satisfaction
- Promote the company’s services addressing or predicting client objectives
- Support the preparation of proposals, qualifications packages, and teaming agreements in coordination with preconstruction and marketing, ensuring adherence to laws and guidelines
- Keep records of sales, revenues, invoices, etc.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Development, Administration, Management, or related field (experience may substitute for the degree)
- Minimum of 5 years of related experience required
- Working knowledge of the commercial construction industry
- Experience or familiarity with public-sector projects, including schools, affordable housing, recreational centers, and hospitals
- Organized with strong attention to detail and thorough note-taking
- Strong proficiency in Excel and MS Office programs
- Excellent communication skills (written, verbal, and interpersonal)
- Ability to collaborate with coworkers, subcontractors, vendors, architects, and designers
- Sales-related skills including prospecting, planning, and presentation abilities
- Strategic mindset to identify project opportunities and position the company for pursuit success
- Cultural competency to represent the company professionally across diverse client groups
- Some travel may be required
- Salary Range: $100,000 – $115,000 commensurate with experience, plus up to 10% discretionary annual bonus
