Are you a Business Analyst looking to grow your influence and help shape products that really matter?

At Advanced Secure Technologies, we're a Cardiff-based technology company on a mission to protect organisations from document fraud. Our secure digital solutions support customers across the legal, financial, and education sectors - helping them reduce risk and operate with confidence.

Due to continued growth, we're looking for a Business Analyst to play a key role in shaping, improving, and delivering high-quality products, including software applications, used both internally and by our customers. Working closely with our Director of Product & Customer Experience and Lead Product Manager, you'll help turn business needs into clear, actionable requirements that drive product direction and delivery.

This role is ideal for an ambitious mid-level aspiring Business Analyst who wants to make a real impact in a growing business. You'll have genuine opportunity to influence product decisions and grow your responsibility as the business evolves.

What you'll do
  • Capture, analyse, negotiate, and document business and product requirements across our product portfolio.
  • Support project initiation activities, including defining goals, high-level requirements, and viability analysis.
  • Undertake business process analysis, producing process diagrams and recommending improvements.
  • Work with stakeholders across Product, Technology, Sales, Operations, and Leadership to gather and refine requirements.
  • Support product backlog management, maintaining epics, features, and user stories.
  • Participate in the full product and software development lifecycle to ensure solutions meet agreed requirements.
  • Review existing products and propose, prioritise, and document improvement opportunities.
  • Communicate with customers where appropriate on product-related analysis and requirements.
  • Produce clear, structured, high-quality documentation and maintain requirement traceability using appropriate tools.
What you bring
  • Proven experience or strong capability in business analysis, including requirements elicitation and documentation.
  • Experience analysing business processes and translating them into practical requirements.
  • Strong technical understanding and the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical colleagues.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with confidence working at all levels of a business.
  • A structured, analytical approach and the ability to work autonomously when required.
  • ISEB Diploma in Business Analysis or equivalent experience.
  • Experience working across the Software Development Lifecycle.
  • Exposure to defect management and release management.
  • Data analysis, data modelling, or relational database experience.
  • Experience using tools to track requirements and delivery such as Target Process, Jira, or Azure Dev Ops.
  • Knowledge of project management principles such as Agile or PRINCE
    2.
  • Degree-level education.
Benefits
  • Competitive salary of £40,000 - £45,000 depending on experience.
  • The opportunity to directly influence product direction in a growing technology business.
  • Clear progression opportunities as the product function and business scale.
  • 25 days holiday plus Bank Holidays.
  • Training and development time, plus support for relevant courses and qualifications.
  • Free gym, free secure parking, free eyecare, and a fully stocked kitchen.
  • Company car and cycle-to-work schemes.
  • A supportive, collaborative culture with birthday treats and regular office events.
Location and hours

Onsite at Eastern Business Park, St Mellons, Cardiff, Wales.

Minimum 37.5 hours per week, 8.30am to 5pm Monday to Friday, with up to one hour for lunch.
