Business Support Co-ordinator – 6 Month Secondment

Working 36.5 hours per week
This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys variety, problem-solving, and working with colleagues at all levels. You’ll play a key role in supporting executive leaders as they deliver strategies that promote growth, development, and sustainability across the city.
About the RoleAs a Business Support Coordinator, you will provide comprehensive support across three core areas:
Governance & Compliance, Complaints & Service Improvement, and Business Planning & Performance. Your work will help ensure that the council meets statutory requirements, delivers high-quality services, and maintains strong, transparent governance.
You will work closely with the Executive Business Support Team, Governance colleagues, frontline managers, and corporate services to coordinate activity, track progress, and keep essential processes running smoothly.
Key Responsibilities- Coordinating and managing administrative tasks
- Work alongside the Governance team, forward planning and tracking the progress of all the directorates committee reports
- Supporting the directorates Cabinet Committee Property reports, working closely with authors, and facilitating approvals, enabling a smooth start to finish process
- Supporting the Directorate’s business planning processes
- Facilitating communication and collaboration across teams
- Assisting with the preparation of reports and presentations
- Providing support and advice to officers on political governance and decision-making processes
- Provide cross cover during periods of within the executive support team
- Experience supporting governance, business planning, performance, or service improvement in a large or complex organisation
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and work to tight deadlines
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tailor messages to different audiences
- Confidence in building effective working relationships at all levels
- Ability to analyse information, identify trends, and produce clear, concise reports
- Competence in using relevant IT systems and performance management tools
- A proactive, solutions-focused approach and the ability to work independently
