The Strategic Business Development Director will drive the growth of the Intermediary Wealth Platform by engaging with key strategic partners, corporate groups and consolidators, particularly with C‑Suite executives, to secure long‑term partnerships.
You will build robust long‑term partnerships that support the growth of AUA, revenue and broader “One Lloyds” solutions, including Scottish Widows investment propositions. The focus will be on profitability, quality of flows (in, out and net) delivery, managing persistency and ultimately driving the delivery of market share targets across the Intermediary Wealth platform.
Our Intermediary Distribution function is a key growth area. You will help shape and drive the strategy and support structure to meet ambitious targets.
About this opportunityUtilising your industry connections and relationships within the Intermediary Distribution business and other areas of Lloyds Banking Group will be critical. You will identify and deliver profitable partnership deals, ensure robust contracting, lead new white‑label partnership relationships and oversee launch, governance and smooth handover to ongoing relationship managers.
What you’ll need- Experience in consultative selling and working with technology platforms; awareness of current marketplace developments and trends.
- Ability to identify, manage and close large B2B partnership deals and maintain effective relationships at senior management/board level.
- Highly effective interpersonal and communication skills, including persuasive, influencing, motivational and negotiation skills at all levels.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to evaluate information and metrics, prioritise actions.
- Ability to hand over client relationships to colleagues efficiently without detriment to commercial activity.
- A collaborative style that resolves problems and achieves goals.
- A detailed understanding of financial advice, B2B & D2C investment and platform technology markets and key trends.
- Ability to activate new distribution partners through strong relationships, effective pricing and contracting, and signing of appropriate legal documentation.
