Procurement Heads are working with a Food and Beverage company who are looking for a commercially driven Category Buyer to support the development and delivery of procurement strategies across a broad range of indirect categories. This role will focus on driving value, managing supplier relationships and delivering competitive commercial outcomes in a fast-paced, complex market.
You’ll work closely with internal stakeholders and suppliers to deliver savings, manage contracts, support bids and ensure a competitive, secure and sustainable supply base. The role offers strong exposure to strategic sourcing, supplier negotiations and category development.
Location - Surrey/London
Key responsibilities- Support the development and execution of category strategies across indirect spend
- Lead sourcing activity, contract negotiations and supplier reviews
- Deliver cost savings, manage inflation and drive commercial value
- Build and manage strong supplier relationships and performance reviews
- Develop cost models, pricing mechanisms and market insight to inform decisions
- Partner with stakeholders across sales, sustainability and operations teams
- Support bids, tenders and internal queries across the category
- Identify new suppliers, market trends and innovation opportunities
- Use data and analysis to track performance and inform strategy
- Experience in procurement, sourcing or category buying (indirects categories)
- Strong commercial and analytical skills (pricing, cost modelling, Excel)
- Proven ability to negotiate and influence stakeholders
- Experience managing supplier relationships and contracts
- Data-driven mindset with strong attention to detail
- Comfortable working to targets in a fast-moving environment
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Experience with procurement systems and reporting tools is beneficial
- Proactive, resilient and solutions-focused approach
- Salary - Up to £38,000 base salary + Bonus
- 2 days in the office/3 days work from home
