Risk Manager/Analyst, Operations Manager
About the Role
Lead and develop a team of 12 Loss Control Surveyors across our Northern UK region (including Scotland, Northern Ireland and Northern Wales), with accountability for team performance. This 12‑month secondment role is hybrid – you will spend a week working from home and the rest traveling on site visits and attending quarterly face‑to‑face team meetings. You’ll set clear direction, support performance and create an environment where people are engaged, supported and focused on delivering good outcomes for members.
You will work closely with senior surveyors, agents and colleagues across NFU Mutual, plan workloads, monitor service levels and ensure regulatory and operational standards are met. In addition to day‑to‑day leadership duties, you will oversee complaints, risks and issues, and play a key role in improving processes and ways of working within Loss Control.
- Experience leading, developing or mentoring team members, including handling performance management tasks
- Strong knowledge of general insurance related principles, processes and regulatory requirements
- Proven ability to build effective working relationships with colleagues, agents and other stakeholders
- Experience of managing change and implementing process improvement
- A relevant technical or professional qualification, such as ACII or ILM, or equivalent experience
