Communities and Social Impact Coordinator

Manchester

The Social Value Coordinator will support employment, education and community activities on our projects across the North West, liaising with internal and external stakeholders to plan, promote, deliver, monitor and report on Social Value outcomes and leave a positive lasting legacy in local communities.

This is a full-time role, offering the flexibility to combine working on our sites across the North West/North Wales with working from home and in our NW office near Manchester Airport.

What you will be doing:
  • Work closely with project teams/internal stakeholders to reinforce the delivery of meaningful Social Value across all our projects, ensuring that teams clearly understand their responsibilities.
  • Plan, develop and support in the delivery of comprehensive social value project plans to maximise the social value generated on our projects.
  • Support project teams in the successful delivery of employment and training plans including apprentice targets, liaising with supply chains and key stakeholders as required.
  • Pro-actively establish links with relevant education and training providers, industry bodies and community organisations.
  • Organise and coordinate the delivery of work placements, site visits, etc., and help develop educational resources.
  • Support project teams in their community engagement activities, including identifying and building relationships with key local community groups/VCSE stakeholders.
  • Capture, monitor and report on Social Value outcomes against KPIs.
  • Be an active ambassador of the Considerate Constructor’s Scheme and support project teams with their audits and community liaison needs to achieve industry-leading results.
  • Contribute to bid research as required, and provide relevant case studies.
  • Strive for continuous improvement, staying abreast of industry best practice and innovation.
  • Report into our Social Value Engagement Manager.
About You:
  • IT – highly competent in MS Office.
  • Experience of working in a similar or related position, experience of community engagement and managing and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders.
  • An understanding of EDI and the employment and skills agenda, preferred.
  • Knowledge and experience of National TOMS and Social Value Portal, or similar.
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel throughout the region.
