Procurement Specialist

The closing date is 06 July 2026

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Procurement Specialist to join the Procurement department. The role will be pivotal in delivering substantial savings to the Trust.

Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (the Trust) is one of the UK's premier Foundation Trusts, with an operating budget in excess of £1bn. It provides a broad range of healthcare services to the population of South Yorkshire and beyond.

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing an effective and efficient procurement service across a range of stakeholders within the Estates and Facilities category. The role includes remote working in line with the Trust Home Working Policy. The department seeks a dynamic and experienced procurement professional to enhance relationships with stakeholders, drive productive collaboration, and effectively plan to manage non-pay activity.

Reporting to the Senior Procurement Manager, the Procurement Specialist will provide procurement expertise to stakeholders within the Trust: advising on successful contracting within the context of public procurement regulations and the Trust's internal regulations and policies.

Main duties of the job

To support the Head of Procurement by taking responsibility for formal Procurement of Goods and Services.

To review products and/or services used across the Trust and wider partnering organisations (e.g., Working Together, Shelford), ensuring that best value is obtained by considering usage.

To ensure procurement activity achieves best value for money based on whole lifecycle costs, while complying with all Trust financial procedures and Procurement Directives.

You will be working for an organisation which values and respects all of its staff and the community it serves. The Procurement department provides procurement and supply chain services to the Trust. The department's corporate procurement team is responsible for developing strategies to meet the procurement needs of individual directorates and the Trust as a whole, and for delivering measurable savings from revenue expenditure in line with the Trust's formal Savings Plan.
