About Us

Seccl is the Octopus-owned embedded investment platform that’s on a mission to help more people invest – and invest well. We’re B‑Corp certified with an impressive product‑market fit, early traction and the potential to transform an outdated industry for the better. We’ve been growing fast and will scale even faster over the next few years.

About the Role

We’re looking for a Resilience & Continuity Manager to join our Operational Resilience team. You’ll be responsible for the ongoing development, implementation and maintenance of Seccl’s business continuity capability as part of our wider operational resilience framework. Your work will help us safeguard stakeholders, maintain critical operations and recover quickly from operational disruption.

This is a hands‑on role for someone who can combine subject‑matter expertise with practical delivery. You’ll lead our business continuity management capability, support wider operational resilience activity and help ensure we continue to meet relevant regulatory requirements, including FCA Operational Resilience and EU DORA obligations.

Working closely with teams across the business, you’ll help embed resilience thinking into day‑to‑day decision making and business operations. You’ll support testing, exercising, governance reporting, third‑party resilience assessment and continuous improvement – making sure our plans, evidence and processes remain current, proportionate and effective.

Typical Responsibilities
  • Maintain and improve Seccl’s business continuity management system, ensuring it remains current, effective and well documented.
  • Facilitate business impact assessments and business continuity risk assessments across the business.
  • Work with stakeholders to develop, review and maintain practical business continuity plans.
  • Support operational resilience activity, including documentation, evidence and records for regulatory compliance.
  • Design, coordinate and facilitate business continuity, operational resilience and crisis management exercises.
  • Assess testing outcomes, identify lessons learned and track remediation actions through to completion.
  • Produce high‑quality reporting for senior management, governance forums and Board‑level audiences.
  • Use insight, trend analysis and management information to support risk‑based decision making.
  • Support third‑party continuity and resilience assessments.
  • Identify opportunities to improve resilience processes through tooling, automation and data‑driven reporting.
Qualifications
  • Significant experience in operational resilience, business continuity management or a related risk discipline within financial services.
  • Strong understanding of FCA Operational Resilience requirements and EU DORA obligations.
  • Experience in designing, facilitating and evaluating scenario exercises and resilience testing programmes.
  • Ability to produce clear, insightful governance reporting and present findings confidently to senior stakeholders.
  • Comfortable maintaining policies, standards, procedures and evidence for regulatory, audit and assurance purposes.
  • Clear communication with technical and non‑technical stakeholders, bringing people along while challenging constructively where needed.
  • Strong risk mindset with the ability to balance regulatory expectations with practical, commercial and operational realities.
What’s In It For You
  • Salary between £60,000 and £80,000, dependent on experience and reviewed annually.
  • 27 days holiday + bank holidays; some flexibility; day off on your birthday; three full‑time dependant leave days per year.
  • Two volunteering days per year.
  • Option to work abroad for up to six weeks a year.
  • Recognition programme offering flexible rewards including extra pay, additional holiday and increased learning budget.
  • One month paid sabbatical after eight years of service.
