Events Activator World Indoor Championships 2026 – British Rowing

In 2026, British Rowing will host the World Rowing Indoor Championships (WRICH) in parallel with the pre-existing and well-respected British Rowing Indoor Championships BRIC. This gives us an anchor point for the evolution of our offering to the growing indoor rowing community, to align various existing competitions and to leverage the benefits of hosting a major international event.

About the Role

What you’ll be doing
  • Lead on the following areas of planning and delivery for the WRICH/BRIC:
    – Coordination of the volunteer programme across all areas, working to develop a pool of volunteers that will be able to support future indoor rowing events.
    – Planning of additional activations within the event including Youth & Corporate competitions, and British Rowing promotional opportunities.
    – Support with management of the event inbox, responding to competitor/spectator enquiries
    – Coordination of VIP functions
    – Booking and liaison with suppliers
    – Accommodation & catering arrangements
  • Supporting the evolution of the British Indoor Rowing Series, incorporating the BUCS Indoor Rowing Series, including supporting host venues, coordinating results etc.
  • Work with various other partners to support the growth of indoor rowing competitions and opportunities, and to develop an indoor rowing calendar.
  • Work closely with the Communications and Marketing team to promote indoor rowing, including the Indoor Rowing Series, BRIC and the WRICH.
  • As part of the Contractor arrangement, working with the Events & Competitions Team to contribute towards the review and development of the overall event offering (competitive and non-competitive) across the sport to make rowing more relevant, connected and accessible.
