Front End Developer
- Salary: £47,766 - £50,155

A new exciting permanent opportunity has become available to join a modern organisation within the civil service, that relies heavily on IT services to innovate and operate effectively on both national and international levels.
As a Front-End Developer, you will have the chance to work with cutting-edge cloud technologies, engage in modern delivery processes, and participate in innovative projects, including those involving AI and ML.
Day-to-day of the role- Design, code, test, and document a range of applications from small scale to large, complex or mission-critical in a cloud-first environment.
- Build web-based Front-End interfaces interacting with RESTful APIs using React, Next JS, and other web technologies.
- Work closely with test engineers to ensure a common understanding of the code base and test coverage.
- Proactively investigate problems and opportunities in existing processes, evaluating and communicating findings and recommendations to stakeholders.
- Work within a multi-disciplinary team to deliver highly user-focused and successful digital services, ensuring governance standards are adhered to.
- Implement toolkits and APIs for purposes such as integration, performance optimisation, security, and scalability.
- Explore innovative ways to solve problems, working in a fail-fast fashion to provide required functionality.
- Apply HMG IA technical security controls according to ISO 27001 & the Security Policy Framework (SPF).
Skills & Qualifications
- Significant experience in delivering technical solutions as part of large projects.
- Proficient with modern delivery models such as Scrum and Agile.
- Experience working with cloud technologies, particularly Azure.
- Working knowledge of Azure Dev Ops and Git.
- Advocate of Dev Ops principles.
- Excellent understanding of React and experience with Next JS.
- Strong knowledge of Node JS and experience working with RESTful web services.
- Good understanding of architectural principles with design patterns such as SOA and Micro-Services.
- Civil Service Pension with an employer contribution of 28.97%.
