Position: Employee Relations Advisor (Pensions  Fire and Rescue Service

Employee Relations Advisor (Pensions) – Dorset & Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service

Grade: D

Salary: Part‑time salary based on 24 hours per week: £20,456 – £21,498 per annum (rising to £21,498). Full‑time equivalent salary: £31,537 – £33,143 per annum (rising to £33,143).

Hours: Part Time – 24 hours per week

Location: This role is based at Dorchester Support Offices with opportunities to work from home. There will be a requirement to attend your centre of duty location approximately one day a week for key activities and meetings. Flexibility for remote work otherwise.

Responsibilities
  • In liaison with the relevant pension administrator, provide HR pension information and support to line managers, business partners, and all employees. Investigate and resolve a wide range of pension‑related issues fairly and consistently.
  • Produce all pension‑related documents (e.g., associated policies, discretions) ensuring they are current and reflect legislation.
  • Input all relevant pension changes into the pay system in a timely manner to ensure accurate staff and employer contributions. Liaise with employees and external stakeholders to resolve issues and find solutions while meeting tight deadlines.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Post‑specific qualification at Level 3 or above, or equivalent demonstrable working experience at this level.
  • Experience meeting best practice guidelines and employment legislation requirements, minimizing organisational risk.
  • Effective organisational and time management skills with ability to work to tight deadlines while maintaining quality standards.
Additional Information
  • Must be able to fulfil travel requirements, including occasional travel across Dorset & Wiltshire.
  • Standard Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) check will be undertaken prior to offer.
