About the role

Balfour Beatty’s Power Transmission & Distribution business is delivering some of the UK’s most ambitious energy infrastructure projects, driving decarbonisation and innovation at every turn.

We are seeking a Risk Analyst to join our Power T&D Innovation Team. In this role, you will support the development, maintenance and reporting of robust, evidence-based risk information across both the baseline risk process and in-flight delivery stage.

The role will provide technical data, quantification and reporting support to ensure risk registers are accurate, consistent, auditable and aligned with the agreed competency framework, project governance requirements and client-facing outputs.

Hybrid working - 3 days in the office and 2 days working from home

What you'll be doing
  • Support Tender and Work Winning Teams by assisting with the preparation and maintenance of Tender Risk Registers, ensuring risk information is accurately recorded and updated during the bidding process
  • Work with Project Management Teams to maintain project risk registers, update risk records, track actions, and support periodic risk reviews throughout project delivery
  • Support SBU/BU Leadership Teams by preparing risk reports, dashboards, and presentation materials to assist management with risk monitoring and decision-making
  • Liaise with the Central Group Risk Team to remain informed of updates to the ERM Framework, risk systems, standards, and reporting requirements, applying these changes within day-to-day activities
  • Support project teams in meeting client risk management requirements by maintaining records, preparing reports, and providing risk information as requested.
  • Assist external advisors, consultants, subcontractors, and suppliers by gathering and validating risk data required for project risk assessments, including QCRA and QSRA activities
  • Maintain accurate, structured and auditable risk registers across Stage 1 and
  • Support collaborative risk identification, root-cause analysis, risk structuring and data validation
Who we're looking for
  • Working towards Professional certification such as Institute of Risk Management membership or APM Risk Practitioner (desirable)
  • Degree in a relevant technical or management discipline, or equivalent professional experience
  • Experience working in a dedicated Risk Analyst role within medium to large organisations.
  • Strong understanding of risk and control processes and their application across complex business environments.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and influencing skills, with the ability to engage senior management and stakeholders at all levels.
  • QCRA / QSRA knowledge
  • Proven ability to build and maintain strong relationships across multiple stakeholder groups
