Job OverviewWe are seeking an experienced manager to join our Processing and Professional Services Teams within NWSSP Primary Care Services. You will be responsible for delivering accurate and timely prescription payment schedules, supporting primary care contractors across Wales. This is a fast-paced, operational role requiring strong leadership, organisation, and analytical skills. You will manage team performance, ensure compliance with Service Level Agreements, and provide expert advice on prescribing and dispensing regulations.
Working with internal teams and external stakeholders, you will drive continuous improvement and maintain high service standards. This is a hybrid role and attendance in the office is required to support teams alongside home working.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post;

The role provides operational management for the Processing and Professional Services Teams, ensuring high-quality, timely service delivery. You will oversee the processing of monthly prescription payments, managing workflows, team performance, and compliance with Service Level Agreements. The role also involves providing specialist advice on prescribing regulations and resolving complex queries. Key responsibilities include monitoring performance, analysing data, and supporting continuous service improvement.
As a line manager, you will lead staff development, manage performance, and foster a positive team environment. Strong management, communication, and organisational skills are essential, along with the ability to work under pressure and deliver results in a deadline-driven environment.

Qualifications And Knowledge
Essential criteria
- Educated to degree level or able to demonstrate equivalent relevant experience.
- ILM Level 5 Management qualification or equivalent leadership/management experience
- Specialist knowledge of Dispensing and Prescribing, including the Drug Tariff and Statement of Financial Entitlement (SFE).
- Ability to apply specialist knowledge to assess, investigate, and resolve complex queries from Prescribing Support Teams (PST) and Processing staff
- Knowledge of Velindre Trust policies and procedures, with a clear understanding of Data Protection and Information Governance requirements
- In‑depth knowledge of the England and Wales Drug Tariff and its practical application
- Sound knowledge of Prescribing Services, key stakeholders, and partnership organisations.
