The Devon Building Control Partnership Area includes areas of outstanding beauty including Dartmoor National Park and the South Hams, along with the Market Towns of Newton Abbot, Okehampton and Tavistock.

As an Area Building Control Surveyor, you will assist in the development, marketing and implementation of a high-quality Building Control Service in accordance with legislation, professional standards and corporate priorities.
You will work within a friendly, professional and committed team of Building Control Surveyors processing applications, carrying out site inspections and dealing with dangerous structures as a specialist on Building Control matters.
You will provide high quality advice to our clients, the public, partners and elected Members to ensure that performance standards and business targets are achieved.
To be successful in this role, you will:- Have experience in all aspects of the building regulations, the Building Act and allied legislation.
- Be registered with the Building Safety Competence Foundation (BSCF) and licensed at B and B (or in progress/willing to undertake).
- Be a highly committed and accountable team player, customer focussed with excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Have a proven ability to work as part of a team providing excellent service to customers whilst ensuring compliance with the building regulations and meeting performance targets in a busy environment.
