Field-Based / Remote Position - North Division
Covering a large geographical area across our North Division, this role is suitable for candidates based anywhere north of Birmingham. The successful candidate will work a combination of field based and remote while providing support to stores across the region, with regular travel required.

We are seeking an exceptional Health and Safety Advisor to join our Risk team and support our national Trade Counter network. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced safety professional who can operate both strategically and operationally, influencing senior stakeholders while ensuring the effective implementation of health and safety standards across a large multi-site estate.

Working across a designated geographical region, you will provide expert advice, guidance, coaching and assurance to regional and store management teams, helping to embed a positive safety culture throughout the business.
This role requires a highly credible professional capable of managing competing priorities across a large portfolio of locations, identifying emerging risks and driving continuous improvement initiatives. You will work closely with operational leaders to ensure compliance with health and safety legislation, fire safety requirements and environmental standards.
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing expert health, safety and fire safety advice across a multi-site retail estate.
- Conducting fire risk assessments, audits, inspections and risk-based reviews to ensure compliance and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Supporting accident and incident investigations, identifying root causes and implementing preventative measures.
- Monitoring legislative changes and advising the business on implications and required actions.
- Delivering engaging training, coaching and awareness programmes.
- Supporting the development and implementation of strategic health and safety initiatives.
- Reviewing policies, procedures and management systems, recommending improvements to the Head of Risk.
- Supporting fire safety governance, fire risk assessment programmes and remedial action plans.
- Working collaboratively with operational and support function teams to drive continuous improvement and best practice.
The Person:
You are an influential, commercially aware and strategic thinker who understands how effective health and safety management contributes to business performance. You have experience taking ownership of health and safety across multiple locations and are comfortable challenging constructively, driving change and building strong relationships with operational leaders.
You bring credibility, resilience and a practical approach, enabling you to balance compliance requirements with operational needs while maintaining the highest standards of safety and risk management.
What we're looking for:
We are seeking an experienced and proactive Health and Safety professional with a proven track record of supporting complex, multi-site operations.
Essential requirements:
- NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent health and safety qualification.
- Level 3 Fire Risk Assessment qualification (or higher)
- Demonstrable experience in a Health and Safety Advisor role supporting a large multi-site organisation, ideally within retail, logistics, distribution or a similarly fast-paced operational environment.
