Job Title:Senior Manager – Records Management
Salary: The starting salary is £62,310, which includes allowances totalling £3,009.
The salary is broken down as £59,301 basic salary, which will increase annually until you reach the top of the scale £72,254. Plus, a location allowance of £2,009 and a non-pensionable allowance of £1,000.

Job PurposeThe Senior Lead for Records Management is responsible for translating the organisations Records Management strategy into effective operational delivery across both physical and digital records.
The role ensures the consistent implementation of records management frameworks, driving compliance with statutory and regulatory obligations, including the Data Protection Act 2018, UK GDPR, the Police Records and Information Management Code of Practice, and the Management of Police Information (MoPI).
The postholder will lead on embedding best practice, strengthening compliance, and delivering continuous improvement to support operational policing, public trust, transparency, and the lawful use of data.
Key Role Responsibilities- Translate the MPS Records Management strategy into clear operational plans, controls, and deliverables aligned to organisational priorities.
- Lead the implementation of records management policies, standards, and procedures across the MPS, ensuring consistent adoption.
- Monitor and report on compliance with legislative, regulatory, and organisational requirements, escalating risks and issues as appropriate.
- Oversee and assure records retention, review, and disposal programmes in line with MoPI and statutory requirements.
