The Corporate Services Group works closely with the Home Office’s policy and operational commands to enable us together to deliver the department’s priorities. The group iscomprisedof different teams and professional functions, including Commercial, Communications, Finance, People, Portfolio and Project Delivery, Private Office, Security,Estate sand Information.
The Debt Strategy Team supports business areas across the Home Office in the effective management and recovery of debt through the delivery of accounts receivable and debt management processes. The team provides guidance and support on debt-related activities, including debt recording, monitoring, case referrals to external suppliers, and the application of debt management policies and procedures.
Operating a customer-focused service, the team responds to debt and accounts receivable enquiries from internal and external stakeholders, ensuring queries are resolved accurately and efficiently.
As a team, we help ensure the Home Office maintains effective debt management practices, maximises debt recovery opportunities, and complies with relevant financial policies and procedures.
Our aim is to promote efficient self‑service functionality through Home Office systems while providing expert guidance and support to enable effective debt management, informed decision-making, and continuous improvement across key financial transaction processes.
The purpose of this role is to support the Debt Strategy team in delivering the Home Office debt strategy and maintaining an effective account's receivable function. The post holder will contribute to debt management activities, supplier oversight, data analysis and process improvement to maximise debt recovery and support informed decision-making.
The role requires the post holder to interpret and process data to ensure that the debt strategies are maintained for our accounts receivable area. The role holder will ensure that they adhere to clearly defined policies and guidance and develop/maintain a strong reputation for excellent customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Input, record and monitor debt data accurately to support supplier handovers and performance reviews
- Provide guidance, coaching, and procedural advice to staff on debt data completion and Accounts Receivable self‑service processes
- Resolve queries from internal and external stakeholders while supporting colleagues and completing allocated work
- Contribute to team objectives, identifying opportunities for continuous improvement and supporting the delivery of the debt strategy
- The post holder will be expected to work across the team to support wider team objectives and to foster excellent collaboration and continuous improvement.
- Ad hoc duties to support team objectives and managers may be required.
Working Pattern
Due to the business requirements of this role, it is only available on a full-time basis.
