Rate: £29.50 per hour PAYE
Contract: Temporary – 12 weeks

The RoleYou will oversee the delivery of specialist adaptations and home improvement works, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget and to the required quality and legislative standards
.
- Managing disability adaptations, including ramps, stair lifts, wheelchair lifts, level-access showers and other specialist adaptations.
- Managing a complex caseload from assessment and specification through to completion.
- Carrying out pre-, mid- and post-inspections of works.
- Assessing and addressing disrepair, damp and condensation issues.
- Managing contractors, contracts and supplier relationships.
- Providing technical advice and ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and Building Regulations.
- Working with vulnerable residents and ensuring appropriate reasonable adjustments and support are provided.
- Supervising and supporting surveyors and trainee/apprentice surveyors.
- Managing complaints, defects and service issues effectively.
- Supporting service improvement, change initiatives and quality assurance.
- Working collaboratively with residents, internal teams and external partners.
You will need substantial experience in disability adaptations and a strong background in surveying within residential buildings.
Essential Experience- Proven experience delivering disability adaptations and home improvements
. - Experience specifying works such as wheelchair lifts, ramps, level-access showers and ceiling track hoists
. - Strong knowledge of building defects, disrepair and HHSRS
. - Experience working with vulnerable residents.
- Experience managing contractors and repair/maintenance contracts.
- Experience managing complex caseloads and delivering projects to deadlines.
- Knowledge of relevant legislation including the Housing Grants, Construction and Regeneration Act 1996, Building Safety Act 2022, Building Regulations 2010 and Procurement Act 2023
. - Strong technical, communication, stakeholder management and problem-solving skills.
- Experience of leading or supervising technical staff.
A relevant professional qualification, such as Building Surveying or a related built-environment discipline
, is required. Membership of a relevant professional body, such as MRICS or MCIOB
, would be advantageous.
Please note:
Previous specialist experience in disability adaptations is essential for this role.
Anticipated Length of Assignment: Unless otherwise stated (we do carry the occasional permanent vacancy) all of our roles are technically temporary, though opening assignments can be and often are, extended by clients on a longer term basis and can sometimes become permanent.
