Basis

Permanent, Full time 36 hours per week

A £312 tax-free working from home allowance is also payable annually.

About

the role

The Quality & Process Improvement Specialist will play a key role in supporting the Commission's continuous improvement journey. Working within the Corporate Services Directorate, you will partner with teams across the organisation to understand how work is delivered, identify opportunities for improvement, and help implement practical solutions that enhance quality, efficiency and customer experience.

You'll use process improvement methodologies, data analysis and stakeholder engagement skills to help teams review and optimise their processes. From facilitating process mapping workshops to supporting business improvement projects, you'll help ensure that decisions are informed by evidence and focused on delivering positive outcomes.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading process improvement initiatives to enhance organisational efficiency, effectiveness and service delivery.
  • Facilitating process mapping workshops and supporting teams to identify and implement improvements.
  • Providing business analysis expertise to support organisational projects and transformation activities.
  • Using data and insight to identify trends, evaluate performance and inform decision-making.
  • Engaging and influencing stakeholders to support continuous improvement and organisational change.
  • Developing reporting and management information to measure outcomes and support improvement activities.
  • Promoting continuous improvement best practice across the Commission.
About the team

The Process Improvement and Quality Assurance team supports the Commission in developing efficient, effective and customer-focused ways of working. The team works collaboratively with colleagues across all directorates to improve processes, strengthen quality assurance arrangements and embed a culture of continuous improvement.

This is a supportive and forward-looking team that combines analytical thinking, collaboration and practical problem-solving. You will have the opportunity to work with a wide range of stakeholders across the organisation, gaining valuable exposure to different business areas while contributing to projects that make a tangible difference.

Who we’re looking for

We’re looking for an experienced improvement professional who enjoys analysing complex problems, influencing stakeholders and delivering meaningful organisational change.

You will be comfortable working independently, engaging with stakeholders at all levels and using evidence-based recommendations to drive improvements. You'll bring strong analytical capability, a collaborative approach and the confidence to challenge existing ways of working constructively.

You will have:

  • Experience leading cross-functional process improvement initiatives.
  • Experience building or maintaining quality management systems.
  • Experience using data and insight to inform recommendations and influence decision‑making.
  • Experience facilitating process mapping workshops and identifying improvement opportunities.
  • Experience influencing and engaging stakeholders across a range of business functions.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and facilitation skills.
  • The ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver outcomes independently.
  • Experience using process mapping methodologies and tools such as BPMN and Microsoft Visio.

A degree or equivalent professional experience is essential. A Lean Six Sigma Black Belt qualification, or equivalent continuous improvement qualification, would be advantageous.
