Job Description

The Improvement Service is committed to supporting innovation and continuous improvement across local government and public services in Scotland. As part of this work, we are exploring how Microsoft Copilot and Copilot Agents can help improve productivity, streamline businessprocessesand enhance service delivery across the organisation.

We are looking for a Copilot Agent Project Officer to support teams toidentifyopportunities for Copilot Agents and help design, develop and implement practical solutions. The post holder will work closely with the IS Copilot working groupand colleagues across the organisation to understand business needs, capture requirements, develop use cases, create and test agents, and support colleagues to make effective use of Microsoft Copilot tools.

This is a practical project and user support role, helping the organisation move towards the controlled,secureand scalable use of Copilot Agents and AI-enabled automation across business functions. The role will support multiple work streams and involve working independently whilemaintainingstrong working relationships with colleagues with varying levels of digital confidence.

Key accountabilities will include supporting the development of Copilot Agent use cases, building, configuring, testing and refining agents using approved organisational tools, supporting the creation of prompts, knowledge sources and workflows, gathering user feedback, developing guidance and training materials, maintaining project documentation, and helping to identify risks, issues, dependencies and benefits.

Applicants should have strong digital literacy and confidence using Microsoft 365 and Microsoft Copilot, particularly in developing Copilot Agents. You should be able to analyse business processes,gatherand document requirements, translate these into practical digital solutions, and explain technical concepts clearly to non-technical audiences. Excellent communication, relationship-building, organisational and project support skills are essential, along with experience of supporting digital projects, business improvement initiatives,trainingor user support.

Experience of working in a public sector environment would be beneficial.

It isanticipatedthat the role will involve a blended model of office and home working. This flexible approach will be agreed between employee and line manager.

Duration: Fixed Term for 6 months

Hours of Contract
: 36 hours per week
