Salary: Up to £55k depending on experience, pro rata

You'll be the person responsible for health and safety across every business that installs for Hometree: heat pumps, solar, batteries and boilers, in homes all over the UK.

You'll set the standards, get out on site to see whether they're embedded, and put things right where they aren't. It's a broad brief with real autonomy, reporting straight into the Director of Operations, Installs and advising senior management through our Health and Safety Committee.

We're open on background. This is a step up for an experienced Health and Safety Advisor or Officer ready for their first manager role, and it's equally a good fit for an established Health and Safety Manager who wants the autonomy to shape a function rather than inherit one. Either way you'll have specialist technical support from our retained health and safety advisory provider behind you, and we're happy to invest in your growth and development as the role grows.

Responsibilities:

• Build and embed the installer health and safety framework
  : policies, manuals, safe systems of work and emergency response plans, aligned to UK legislation, CDM 2015 and MCS scheme requirements, and built to support a Just Culture across the division

• Lead the relationship with our external health and safety advisory provider
  , drawing on their specialist expertise where you need it and making sure we get real value from it

• Run the risk assessment programme across both field activity (working at height, electrical isolation, refrigerant handling, manual handling, lone and remote working, driver safety) and premises (storage facilities, warehouses and installer offices, including fire risk assessment and racking inspection)

• Set, communicate and audit the health and safety standards our contractors and subcontractors work to, and verify competence at onboarding and in use

• Coordinate investigations into accidents, near misses and safety incidents: establish root cause, ensure RIDDOR compliance, produce toolbox talks and track corrective actions through to…
