Senior Engagement Officer; Housing Partnerships

Location: Flexible (homeworking or office) with significant travel across the North
Contract: Full-time, Permanent

We’re looking for a Senior Engagement Officer (Housing Partnerships) to support and develop housing partnerships across the North of England. You’ll work closely with housing providers, local authorities, Strategic Authorities and other key stakeholders to deliver engagement activities, events, campaigns and initiatives that make a real difference to communities.

Housing partnerships brings together housing providers and local authorities to champion regional priorities, deliver new homes and support thriving communities.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing and ambitious team at a pivotal time for housing, devolution and regional growth. You’ll help build influential partnerships, identify opportunities, coordinate activity and support the delivery of strategic priorities across the North.

We’re looking for someone who:

• Builds strong relationships and works confidently with senior leaders and strategic stakeholders across a range of organisations and sectors
• Has excellent organisation and project coordination skills
• Can manage multiple priorities and work independently
• Takes a proactive, solutions-focused approach
• Communicates effectively and influences with confidence
• Enjoys working collaboratively and making things happen

Experience with in a membership or stakeholder management role and knowledge of housing, devolution or regeneration would be beneficial, but we welcome applicants with transferable skills and a willingness to learn.

The Northern Housing Consortium is a not-for-profit membership organisation representing housing providers across the North of England. Our members include local authorities, housing associations, ALMOs and combined authorities—together managing the vast majority of social housing in the region.

We exist to connect our members, amplify their voice, and ensure the North is represented at both regional and national levels. By bringing organisations together, we help shape policy, share best practice, and tackle the biggest challenges facing housing today.

While we work flexibly and embrace remote working, we also value time together. We regularly meet in Sunderland, Newcastle and York to collaborate, connect and share ideas. As part of this role, significant travel across the North is required, with regular attendance at in-person meetings, events and engagement activities. You’ll be expected to build and maintain strong face-to-face relationships with colleagues, members and partners across the region.
