Internal communications transformation lead

We are looking for an experienced Internal Communications Transformation Lead to join our fantastic Internal Comms team and help deliver an ambitious three-year plan, 'Transforming Sense, together'. This is a full-time, hybrid role, offering a mix of home working and 2-3 days per week at our Birmingham office or visiting Sense sites.

With major transformation programmes underway across our operations and technology, you will provide communications expertise to help colleagues understand what is changing, why it matters and what it means for them.

Working closely with programme teams, project leads and senior leaders, you will develop and deliver engaging communications and engagement plans that support transformation from mobilisation through to implementation and adoption.

You will take complex operational and technical information and turn it into clear, accessible and meaningful communications for colleagues across Sense - from our offices and retail shops to frontline services across the UK.

• Act as the dedicated communications lead for our operations and technology transformation programmes.
• Develop and deliver communications and engagement plans that support mobilisation, implementation and adoption.
• Work alongside programme managers to understand milestones, dependencies and risks and ensure communications are embedded within programme delivery.
• Translate complex operational and technical information into clear, engaging and accessible communications.
• Develop key messages, FAQs, briefings, presentations and other communication materials.
• Coordinate communications across multiple transformation work streams, ensuring colleagues receive timely and consistent information without communication overload.
• Provide trusted communications advice to programme leads, project managers and senior stakeholders.
• Identify communication and engagement risks and recommend appropriate approaches.
• Monitor colleague feedback and engagement, adapting communications to improve understanding and readiness for change.
• Work closely with the wider Internal Communications team to coordinate activity across our channels.
• Champion accessible and inclusive communications and ensure content reflects Sense's brand, values and organisational narrative.
• Regularly visit Sense offices, services and retail shops to understand colleagues' experiences, gather insight and support effective transformation.

You will be an experienced internal change communications professional who is comfortable working at the heart of complex transformation programmes.

You will have:

• Significant experience in internal change communications.
• Proven experience supporting large-scale operational, technology or digital transformation.
• Experience working within programme or project environments alongside programme managers, workstream leads and senior stakeholders.
• A strong track record of developing communications and engagement plans that support organisational change and business readiness.
• Experience communicating throughout the change lifecycle, from mobilisation and implementation through to embedding new ways of working.
• Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills, with the confidence to advise and constructively challenge senior colleagues.
• The ability to turn complex or technical information into engaging communications that different audiences can easily understand.
• Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills.
• A good understanding of change management principles and the role communications plays in successful adoption.
• Experience working across a range of internal communication channels.
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-moving environment.
• An understanding of accessible and inclusive communications, including plain English, inclusive language and accessible digital content.
• Excellent digital skills, including Microsoft Teams, SharePoint and PowerPoint.

Experience with in health, social care, the charity sector or another large, complex or regulated organisation would be an advantage.

Regular travel to Sense locations is an essential part of this role and, due to the location of some of our services, a full UK driving licence and the ability to travel independently are required.
