Planner | Kidlington | Full Time | £34,000–£40,000 per annum Founded in 1990, our client is a leading specialist in the Civils, Reinstatement and Utility sector. With an excellent reputation for quality and reliability, they provide installation, maintenance and civil engineering services to local authorities, utility companies and construction firms across the South of England. They are a family-run business with a close-knit, team-focused working environment where colleagues work together across the business to keep operations running smoothly.

The Role As a Planner, you will join a team of 6 and support the day-to-day planning requirements across utilities, civils and reinstatement. Reporting to the Planning Manager, you will work closely with the planning and operations teams to coordinate work, manage priorities and ensure deadlines are met. This is a fast-paced and reactive role, with responsibility for planning around 50–70 jobs per day and typically managing 10–25 jobs at any one time.

You will be allocated around 5–8 teams each day to plan work for the following day, covering the Thames Valley across a range of areas. The role involves direct contact with field teams via telephone and message, monitoring work progress, resolving scheduling issues and ensuring teams have the materials required for planned works. You will also monitor photo compliance and maintain accurate job information and records using Salesforce and SWIMS.

The role is initially office-based 5 days per week while you complete your training, which is expected to take around one month. Once you and your line manager are confident with the role and systems, 1–2 days working from home will be introduced.

Key Responsibilities Plan and coordinate work for around 5–8 teams each day Schedule approximately 50–70 jobs per day Manage around 10–25 jobs at any one time Coordinate utilities, civils and reinstatement works Proactively resolve day-to-day scheduling issues Reallocate teams and resources where required Order materials and ensure teams have the required resources Communicate directly with field teams via telephone and message Monitor the progress of works and respond to operational priorities Monitor photo compliance and follow up on missing or incorrect information Update job information, statuses and records on Salesforce Use SWIMS to plan, upload, review and track photos Work closely with supervisors, operations and the wider planning team Respond to reactive and high-priority works Maintain accurate administration and documentation Requirements Essential Strong Utilities planning background Experience managing and coordinating multiple teams Experience working in a fast-paced and reactive environment Strong customer/client communication skills Excellent organisational and time-management skills Strong administration skills Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills Confident communicating with field teams and wider stakeholders Ability to remain calm and solution-focused under pressure Proactive approach to resolving day-to-day planning issues Basic Microsoft Excel knowledge

Desirable Experience as a Planner, Scheduler, Works Planner, Resource Planner, Operations Planner or Street Works Coordinator
