GRS Claims Shared Services has an immediate opening for a Recovery Resolution Specialist on our Second Injury Fund/Cost of Living (SIF/COLA) team. Under general direction from the SIF COLA Resource Manager, the Recovery Resolution Specialist is responsible for SIF, COLA, Workers Compensation (WC) and other Excess Reimbursement work. This unique role provides the opportunity to create an immediate impact on the business, by directly contributing towards a $50M annual target.

You will contribute to our continued standing up the processes and improvements needed in the operation. You will also contribute to the organization’s success by having a growth mindset and exploring opportunities to continuously improve and adapt to a changing environment. This role requires both collaboration as well as working independently in an efficient manner.

You will be required to go into the office twice a month if you reside within 50 miles of one of the following offices Boston, MA;
Suwanee, GA;
Indianapolis, IN;
Plano, TX;
Hoffman Estates, IL; or Westborough, MA. Please note this policy is subject to change.

Responsibilities:

  • Review, analyze, and process a variety of state reimbursement programs.
  • Investigate workers’ compensation claims to determine eligibility for reimbursement based on state guidelines and regulations.
  • Post findings to the file and establishes action plans and effectively manages inventory.
  • Reviewing outstanding state filings and submitting reconsiderations to the state.
  • Proactively understands jurisdictional nuances to the different reimbursement programs.
  • Tracking incoming financials and follow-up to resolve issues preventing financials coming in the door.
  • Responsible for protecting Statute of Limitations.
  • Provides jurisdictional input/feedback as well as training to vendor partners and line of business to establishes accurate expected recovery.
  • Responsible for building and maintaining customer relationships between the LRU and lines of business, customers, and state contacts.
  • Resolves complaints and problems from the line of business and other customers.
  • Recognize and raise continuous improvement opportunities to enhance effective and efficiency within the team’s workflows.
  • Assists with departmental training to include peer development and team communication as needed.
  • Participate in team level activities. Some responsibilities to lead team activities.
  • May act as a mentor to less tenured staff.
Qualifications
  • Understanding of insurance principles including coverages, medical terminology, legal liability.
  • Workers’ comp and/or Sif Cola knowledge preferred. Ability to interpret and apply rules, policies, and procedures.
  • Ability to plan/organize work and execute successfully.
  • Communicate well written and verbally, including ability to prepare written procedures and policies.
  • Identify and solve problems, exhibits flexibility, resilience, and agility.
  • Bachelor`s degree is preferred, or 5 years’ claims or related experience.
  • Preferred knowledge of ExPRS and BoComp systems
  • Ability to handle confidential and proprietary information is critical.
  • Proficiency with computers is mandatory.
  • Knowledge in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PDF and changing Word and Excel into PDFs.
