This is a remote position that can be performed from anywhere in the United States. Meet the TeamOur team is seeking a Finance Analyst to provide OPEX support to the Splunk Product Organization. This role provides the unique opportunity to help support the forecasting and reporting for the business as well as influence strategic investment decisions. Solid organizational, financial modeling, communication, influencing, and business partnering skills will help you find success in this role.
Your ImpactBudgeting and Opex Management - Support Engineering leadership prioritization and decision making, portfolio planning, annual budgeting and quarterly commit processes, month-end and quarterly close activities, forecasting/reporting/variance analysis, driving compliance.
- Partner closely key business partners, including Engineering and Product Management leadership, HR, talent acquisition, and accounting to collaborate and establish best practices across the organization.
- Model headcount costs and discretionary expenses to identify opportunities and provide recommendations to pull back or accelerate spend based on areas of prioritization by the team.
- Continuously improve forecasting accuracy through enhanced data analytics and cross-functional collaboration
- Support monthly close processes, including: accruals, variance analysis, and PO, invoice, and requisition approvals.
- Perform ad-hoc analyses as needed.
- Understand GAAP and Cisco accounting policy impacts on expense forecasts.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance or Business-related field with 3+ years of proven experience
- Intermediate Excel skills is a requirement
- Proficiency with finance ERPs and financial planning software (e.g. Oracle Hyperion Essbase, Net Suite, Anaplan, etc.)
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational and communication skills
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
- Previous OpEx or COGS Experience is preferred
- SaaS business experience
- Has shown an ability to drive process improvements and automation
