Data Analyst
The Conservation Information Manager participates in conservation planning at various levels across the Conservancy and with Indiana and Midwest conservation partners. They help develop and implement conservation strategies that employ a full range of land protection approaches and that secure public and private support for the Conservancy’s priorities. They develop and maintain documentation, tools and systems for data management, which may include a GIS library and/or database products library.
They perform data analysis, which may include processing spatial and other relational data sets, designing advanced queries, and producing professional reports. They compile, manage, and apply information from various sources to assist staff in making decisions, solving problems, and improving workflow. They coordinate multiple projects, set deadlines, track progress, and manage completion. They provide expert guidance in meeting administrative requirements based on extensive knowledge of policies and procedures and will implement processes and practices to improve effectiveness.
Responsibilities & Scope may help develop and manage work plans, large project budgets, and project management processes. May negotiate and contract with vendors. Ensures integrity of both data collection and management relating to conservation projects. Ensures compliance with Conservancy policies and procedures and with external legal, philanthropic, or accreditation requirements. Under limited supervision acts independently, resolves complex issues within the program area and may act as a resource to others.
Some travel to Preserves and Offices across Indiana will be required occasionally to assist with meetings, events, field work, or other projects. This is a part-time (21 hours per week), salaried position based at our office in Indianapolis, Indiana. The part-time schedule will be determined collaboratively between employee and manager. Work is primarily during standard business hours and includes both in-office and remote home office work, with occasional flexibility to support business needs.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in related field and 3 years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience managing, maintaining and populating databases and manual files.
- Experience in project management across multiple, concurrent projects.
- Experience operating GIS software, analyzing data and producing data reports and creating maps.
- Experience interpreting results then developing and delivering training (if required) to practitioners.
- Experience using common software such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Access and web browsers.
- Communicating clearly via written, spoken, and graphical means in English and other relevant languages.
