About the Role
Our client is seeking a sharp and analytical Agricultural Economist to provide critical insights into market trends, financial planning, and economic viability for agricultural enterprises. This remote role involves analyzing economic data, forecasting market fluctuations, and developing financial models to support strategic decision-making for farms and agribusinesses. You will collaborate with clients and internal teams to optimize resource allocation, manage risk, and enhance profitability within the agricultural sector.
The ideal candidate will have a strong quantitative background and a passion for applying economic principles to real-world agricultural challenges, contributing to sustainable and prosperous farming operations from anywhere.
- Analyze economic data, market trends, and agricultural commodity prices to identify opportunities and risks.
- Develop financial models and forecasts for agricultural projects, farm operations, and agribusinesses.
- Provide economic assessments for investment decisions, policy recommendations, and strategic planning.
- Conduct cost-benefit analyses of various agricultural practices and technologies.
- Prepare comprehensive reports and presentations on economic findings and strategic advice.
- Collaborate remotely with clients, farmers, and stakeholders to understand their economic needs and provide solutions.
- Master's degree or Ph.D. in Agricultural Economics, Economics, or a related quantitative field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in economic analysis, preferably within the agricultural sector.
- Strong knowledge of econometrics , statistical modeling, and financial analysis techniques.
- Proficiency in using data analysis software such as R, Stata, or SPSS.
- Excellent research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex data clearly.
