Remote Agricultural Consultant

About the Role  Our client is seeking an experienced and innovative Remote Agricultural Consultant to advise farmers and agricultural businesses across South Africa, with a particular focus on supporting clients in the Northern Cape. This position offers the opportunity to work remotely while providing expert guidance on improving farm productivity, sustainability, and profitability. You will leverage your deep knowledge of agriculture, technology, and market trends to develop tailored solutions for clients.

The ideal candidate is a proactive problem-solver with excellent communication skills, capable of building strong relationships and delivering tangible results through virtual consultations and support.

Key Responsibilities   Provide expert remote consultation on crop management, soil health, irrigation techniques, and pest/disease control strategies.
Analyze farm operations, identifying areas for improvement in efficiency, resource utilization, and sustainability.
Advise clients on the adoption of new agricultural technologies, including precision farming tools and data management systems.
Develop customized business and financial plans to enhance farm profitability and resilience.
Stay informed about market demands, regulatory changes, and best practices in the agricultural sector.
Deliver virtual training sessions and workshops to educate clients on best agricultural practices.
Requirements   Advanced degree (Master's or PhD) in Agriculture, Agronomy, Agricultural Economics, or a related field.
Minimum of 8 years of experience in agricultural consulting, farm management, or a similar advisory role.
Comprehensive understanding of diverse agricultural systems and challenges relevant to South African contexts.
Proven ability to analyze complex agricultural data and provide practical, evidence-based recommendations.
Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with proficiency in virtual collaboration tools.
Demonstrated experience in remote client management and advisory services.
