Role Description The Marketplace Specialist is a full-time position in a hybrid work arrangement, primarily based in Abu Dhabi Emirate, United Arab Emirates, with some flexibility for work from home. This role focuses on managing and optimizing the use of digital and physical marketplaces for educational materials, equipment, and services that support USEEP’s implementation. Day-to-day responsibilities include coordinating procurement listings, monitoring supplier performance, ensuring accurate and timely information on marketplace platforms, and tracking orders and deliveries to schools and training centers.
The Specialist will collaborate with project teams, vendors, and government stakeholders to align marketplace activities with project timelines, budgets, and compliance requirements. The role also involves analyzing marketplace data, identifying opportunities for cost savings and efficiency, and preparing concise reports and documentation to support decision-making and donor reporting.
- Demonstrated experience in marketplace management, procurement coordination, or vendor management within large projects or public sector environments.
- Strong skills in data analysis, reporting, and use of digital platforms or e-marketplace tools to track transactions and performance.
- Experience working in education, development, or humanitarian projects, ideally with multi-stakeholder or donor-funded initiatives.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across multicultural and cross-functional teams.
- High level of organization, accuracy, and attention to detail, with proven ability to manage multiple concurrent tasks and deadlines.
- Proficiency in standard office software (e.g., spreadsheets, presentations, databases) and comfort learning new project or procurement systems.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Public Administration, Project Management, Education, or a related field; advanced qualifications are an asset.
- Understanding of equity, inclusion, and child protection principles in education programming is highly desirable.
